English Listening: How to overcome the difficulty of listening to English
What do we usually do to practice English listening? Watch maybe 1/2 a movie, listen to a podcast in English 4/5 times a week and listen to something in English for maybe 15 minutes a day.
To be honest, this is not enough to develop listening skills in English. Think for yourself, if you listen to English for 15 minutes every day, that is only 91 hours of listening to English in 1 year. Now ask yourself, is it enough to learn English?
Many people practice listening for many hours a day but do not get good results. Do you know why?
1. At first we started practicing with great enthusiasm. I decide to give maybe 2 hours or more a day.
2. After a few days doing this time becomes a problem.
3. Then we lose all motivation and give up, and that is without realizing it.
4. Listening skills are not developed until you give up.
Thus many good and energetic students also give up. Before the skill is developed, we lose interest or get busy with other activities. So what to do? Practice, daily and regularly.
1. Practice listening in English every day.
2. Make it your daily routine.
Do you know how to get success? Follow these two steps above, English listening will improve!
And the rest is about motivation. Think about it, what is your goal? You might wish you could learn English very well. For this you need to do well in various departments of English. Listening is one of them. For this, set some clear targets every day. Either way you won't want to miss this one. For example daily targets could be –
1. Listen to a 30-minute podcast.
2. Watch a documentary
3. Listening to news
4. 30 minutes conversation listening in English
In this way, when you follow the rules every day, success will catch up with you. So set goals and revise them daily. One thing must be remembered, the harder you work, the more you will get! 🔥
Many people are afraid of English grammar because English is a foreign language. But you will be happy to know that the IELTS test is not based on grammar. The IELTS test is essentially a language-based auditing method. To achieve the desired score in the IELTS test, you need four English language skills: reading, writing, listening and speaking.
